COMING EVENTS
PASTOR IN REVIVAL
Pastor Mapson will be in revival at the Faith Emanuel Baptist
Church, Rev. Dr. J. A. McGruder, Pastor, 2401 North 29th Street,
Wednesday, November 19th through Friday, November 21st at 7:30
p.m. nightly for their Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Revival. On Friday
evening, our church choir will serve. Please plan to come out and
support Pastor Mapson.
ANNUAL AUXILIARY RECOGNITION DAY
November 23rd at 11:00 a.m.
We will honor the following groups: The Cloverleaf Fellowship, The
Greeters Ministry, The 1939 Fellowship, The Users' Ministry, The
Nurses' Unit, and The Mary Peace Willing Workers Fellowship.
FELLOWSHIP WITH THE BETHANY BAPTIST CHURCH
We will fellowship with the Bethany Baptist Church, Rev. Myron
D. Barnes, Sr., Pastor, 58th and Warrington Avenue on Sunday,
November 23rd at 3:30 p.m. for their annual Ushers Ministry
Anniversary. Pastor Mapson will preach; the choir and ushers
will serve. Dinner will be served upon our arrival.
ANNUAL JOINT THANKSGIVING DAY SERVICE
The 52nd Annual Joint Thanksgiving Day Service between Monumental
White Rock will be at White Rock on Thursday, November 27th at
11:00 a.m.. Pastor Mapson will preach and our choir will sing.
MEN'S EMPHASIS SUNDAY
November 30th at 11:00 a.m.
MUSIC MINISTRY FASHION SHOW LUNCHEON
Saturday, December 13th at 12 Noon
Lunch will be served from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Cost: $15.
BLACK HISTORY CONCERT CD'S
CD's of our Black History Concert are now available containing
many Church favorites. Cost: $20
"WHAT WE BELIEVE" SERMON SERIES
We are taking orders (CD's only) for the sermon series.
The cost for the seven-sermon set is $25.
CAPITAL FUND CAMPAIGN
Each loyal member of Monumental is encouraged to continue paying
on your pledge. If you would like a pledge card, please call or
visit the Church Office. The purpose of our Capital Fund Campaign
is to raise funds for needed and necessary inprovements on our
building. Please use the spb>ecial Capital Fund Campaign envelope
in the back of your pew.
DONATIONS GIVEN TO HIGHER EDUCATION MINISTRY
If you would like to give a donation in honor of or in memory
of a loved one, please see a member of the Higher Education Ministry.
Did You Know...
The installation of Rev. Jesse Wendell Mapson, Jr., as the 20th
pastor of Monumenal Baptist Church was held on Sunday, November
8, 1987. Rev. Mapson has been pastoring this historic congregation
for 20 years and is the second longest serving pastor since the
birth of this congregation.
NO PARKING ON SIDEWALKS
We're asking our members and visitors to please not park on
sidewalks around the parking lot. Cars are subject to ticketing
by police.
CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKETS
Once again, the Women's Ministry will be distributing Christmas
Food Baskets to families in need. We need your prayers and contri-
butions in order to provide healthy meals for these families. We are
also asking you for donations of non-perishable items. The deadline
for the monetary contributions and non-perishables is December
10th. Baskets will be distributed on Thursday, December 18th.
ATTENTION SENIORS
The Firehouse on 54th & Haverford Avenue is giving away
$20 food vouchers for the purchase of fruits and vegetables
from 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
